Falmouth Skate Park Project

After securing £145K in National Lottery funding, Falmouth Town Council has now signed a contract with specialist skate park builders, Maverick. Construction is scheduled to start in March, with completion targeted for September 2024. The Mayor, Cllr Kirstie Edwards and the Falmouth Skate Park Committee are planning a ‘Skate Jam’ opening event in collaboration with the Dracaena Centre. The Mayor is keen that this event be shaped by the young people of Falmouth so if you know of any young people who would like to get involved, and/or any adults who might like to help with coaching please do get in touch with the Mayor through the Town Council website.

Changing Places Facility

Anyone walking past Grove Place toilets recently will have noticed foundations being laid next to the existing toilet block. These foundations are for a new Changing Places toilet facility due to open in April 2024. This facility is designed to be completely accessible and provide sufficient space and equipment for people who are not able to use the toilet independently. The project has been joint funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Falmouth Town Council, in association with Muscular Dystrophy UK. The Council hopes that this new facility will make a big difference to anyone with a disability wanting to be able to visit and enjoy Falmouth, knowing they can access a toilet when they need it.

Falmouth BID Ballot

The not-for-profit BID has secured a fourth, five-year term to continue its vital support for the town.

The yes votes on the two counts were 90% and 87%, representing the strongest yes vote to date and one

of the strongest results ever for the South West over the last ten years.
