FORM: Cornwall's newest art festival

Art enthusiasts will flock to Falmouth this September to attend Cornwall’s latest and most exciting new festival on the arts scene - FORM.

FORM directors, Ann and Vicki.

Directors Ann Morgan and Vicki Glaister -who own Morgans Gallery, which focuses on fine art, and Inspire Makers, which has an emphasis on Cornish makers - are keen to welcome back artists and visitors to the event, which is in its second year after proving so popular in 2022.

Ann said: “We are excited to see the range of work being presented once again. Last year we welcomed 3,500 visitors at the Pavilion, with over 90 exhibitors, plus a selection of musicians and food vendors. Many have been keen to come back this year, because exhibitors can engage with both the community and visitors to Falmouth, and it presents a great opportunity for artists to speak to the public about their work, so it’s really positive for them.”

FORM helps to put local artists in the spotlight, and Ann and Vicki hope that it will give Falmouth a name as an arts destination for years to come. “We’re trying to bring Falmouth to the forefront of the Cornish art scene,” Vicki said.

The festival compliments what is already going on in the town and Falmouth Creates, which is part of the Falmouth BID, has helped FORM to get off the ground by providing some funding. However, as a not-for-profit event that is run entirely by volunteers, FORM will need sponsorship going forward to future-proof the festival and help it grow.

FORM will take place between Friday 29th September and Sunday 1st October, and will include an art fair at the Pavilion, a panel discussion with Street Draw at The Poly, specialist art films and much more. Vicki said: “There is a big makers community in Cornwall, but fine artists are a little more isolated. We want to bring artists from around Cornwall together, make them more visible to each other and the public, and provide a vehicle to promote the Cornish art community out of county."
