Treat yourself to a stunning Springtime celebration at the 114th annual Falmouth Spring Flower Show in March, where dazzling floral displays are accompanied by intoxicating scents.
This free event brings together some of Cornwall’s top gardens, dedicated enthusiasts and those who are just discovering the joy of plants, as well as an array of inspiring trade stands to indulge horticultural passions.
In the 1900’s this spectacular show was the premier season opener for the whole county, visited by royalty and renowned public figures, such as the Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. Falmouth Town Council, the new custodians, continue to celebrate this rich heritage, whilst taking it into a new era by opening up the show’s appeal to a wider audience, embracing all ages, abilities and backgrounds, from professional gardeners and dedicated enthusiasts to those who are only just
discovering the joy of plants. Exciting new partnerships have been created and fresh categories added.
Based at Princess Pavilion, there is something for everyone, with the added bonus of four acres of glorious gardens to explore and delicious food available from The Garden Room. It is a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate a love of plants and everything that they offer.
If you’ve never entered the show before, why not give it a go? As well as horticulture, there are
sections for photography, floral art and a rewilding sculpture challenge run in conjunction with
Falmouth Art Gallery. Junior classes range from ages 3 -16 and include edible jewellery, miniature
gardens and fruit and vegetable animals. Last year’s winning cauliflower poodle went viral!
Entries have to be in by Sunday 17 March, so email springflowershow@falmouthtowncouncil.com for

The Show itself is on Saturday 23rd March from 10am- 5pm and Sunday 24th March from 10am- 4pm at Princess Pavilion, 41 Melvill Road, Falmouth, TR11 4AR. www.princesspavilion.co.uk
