Community workshop seeks ideas from residents on creating a Charter of the Sea

Residents in Falmouth are being encouraged to attend a community workshop that will help create a Fal and Helford Charter of the Sea.

Run by The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Marine and Coastal Partnership, with support from Your Shore Network, Falmouth Marine Conservation Group and Helford Marine Conservation Group, the workshop will encourage local people to put forward their ideas on how to support the Fal and Helford’s local marine conservation efforts.

A Charter of the Sea will bring about marine conservation priorities, put actions and projects in place to support these, all while involving those in the community, whether they’re passionate conservationists or simply want to see the local marine environment thrive.

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Marine and Coastal Partnership will be holding a community workshop on Thursday, 7th March between 5.30pm and 8pm at the National Maritime Museum. The event is free to attend with refreshments provided. It will be an opportunity for local people to put forward ideas and suggestions in what is the first step to create a Fal and Helford Charter of the Sea.
