Combining Cornish food producers and musicians for a weekend to remember

Cornwall is renowned for its fantastic food and drink producers, which are celebrated at annual food festivals - but now a duo from Falmouth are bringing the ultimate foodie and music-loving event to town this May.

Barney Farnworth and Harry James-Mills have joined forces to showcase the very best of local food and music at Falmouth Food Festival, a brand new, three-day event running from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May. With Barney’s background in the events industry, and Harry’s expertise in the hospitality sector, the pair promise the festival will be inclusive to everyone in the community.

“We know that everyone has wanted a food festival in Falmouth for a long time now,” Barney told Falmouth Life. “It was a community calling, and the feedback we’ve had since announcing the festival is that‘it’s a long time coming’. A lot of work is involved, but we are incredibly excited.”

Opening from 10am-8pm each day in Church Street car park, the festival will feature live music from Falmouth and Cornwall-based artists, cuisine and flavours from around the world, plus it will showcase local makers and art, so there will be something for everyone.

Barney said: “I’ve always been surrounded by the events industry and culture because of my work, but on a more personal level, food has always been a big part of my life. Harry and I wanted to combine our two life passions - food and music - to bring this event to Falmouth.

“I want the community to know that it’s coming from a local perspective - we’ve grown up here and there is nothing we care about more than our town and community.”
